The other day, I was listening to a Christian radio station and these words caught my attention. “If we are the body, why aren’t His arms reaching? Why aren’t His hands healing?” Why aren’t His words teaching?” My goodness, my ears perked up then and I began listening even harder. The song went to say: “If we are the body, why aren’t His feet going, why is His love not showing there is a way/”
These words peirced my heart and I began to wonder for myself. Am I doing all that I can, as a part of the Body, to fulfill my function? My friends, it is not to be left up to the preacher in the pulpit or the evangelist that comes through from time to time to utilize these functions. It is for every believer who has become a part of the Body of Christ. We all have a part to play. The question for today is – How are you fulfilling your function as a part of the Body of Christ?
Are your arms reaching out to some lost soul?
Are your hands touching someone’s life for healing and restoration?
Are you allowing the Words of Christ that dwell richly in you to speak out to others to teach them that Christ is the way?
Are you making a conscienceous effort to go and see about someone who has become discouraged, or go to see about someone who is sick and shut-in?
Are you loving the, seemingly, unloveable?
I leave this question again, If we are the Body, what exactly are we doing? Selah!!!
